Measure your pet from chest to hindquarters along the body. The sling should support the torso with the legs falling naturally through the openings, not stretched out to reach them.
How to use
- Hang it from a solid fixture at a height where you can work without stooping. Pull down hard on the straps first to be sure the fixture holds.
- Introduce it with your pet's feet still on the ground. Let them stand in it and get a treat. Do not lift on day one.
- Lower them in with the chest supported and guide each leg through its own opening.
- Raise it only until the paws are just clear of the surface. Never higher — this is about removing leverage, not lifting your pet into the air.
- Trim one paw, then pause. Keep the first sessions to a couple of nails and end on a good note.
Good to know
- Never leave a pet unattended in the hammock, not for a moment.
- Keep the sessions short. This restrains a pet, and even a calm animal gets stressed if it goes on too long.
- Stop immediately at heavy panting, struggling, or vocalising. A frightened pet learns to fear the whole routine.
- Not suitable for pets with breathing difficulty, hip or spine problems, recent surgery, or pregnancy.
- Only hang from a fixture that comfortably takes your pet's full weight. Test it before every use.
