The Lunna Pet Co. Thick Flannel Pet Blanket is a layer, not another bed. It goes over what your pet already sleeps on — the crate floor, the end of your bed, their half of the couch — and when it needs washing you put the blanket in the machine instead of scrubbing furniture.
The layer between your pet and everything else
- Reversible, two textures: A printed French velvet face on one side, plain Shu cotton velvet on the other. Turn it over when one side needs a break.
- Vacuum-cotton fill: Padded enough to insulate against a cold floor, thin enough to fold over the arm of a sofa.
- Machine washable, tumble dry safe: The whole point. A blanket that cannot go in the machine stops getting used by February.
- Catches what would land on the furniture: Hair, damp paws, and the smell of a dog who came in from the rain.
- Nine prints: Clouds, stars, bones and hearts, in colors that read as a throw rather than as pet gear.
Choosing a size
- S — a crate floor, a car seat, a small dog or cat curled up
- M — the end of a bed, a sofa cushion, a medium dog stretched out
- L — a full sofa seat, a large dog, or two pets who share
Measure the surface you want to cover rather than the animal. A blanket that runs slightly large is still useful; one that runs short stops protecting the thing you bought it for.
How to use
- Put it where your pet already sleeps. A new blanket in a new spot usually gets ignored.
- Over a sofa, tuck the edges down into the seam so it does not slide off when they jump up.
- In a crate, lay it flat against the base and push it to the back wall so the corners do not curl.
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. It is tumble dry safe on low.
- Shake it out between washes. It lifts the loose hair that a brush leaves behind.
Good to know
- Sizes are given as S, M and L. The supplier does not publish exact dimensions, so measure your surface and choose by coverage, not by your pet's weight.
- A layer, not a bed. It insulates against a cold floor but has no structural padding underneath.
- Not chew-proof. A dog who shreds fabric will shred this, and loose fill is a hazard if swallowed.
- Wash before first use, and wash it alone the first time — plush sheds fibers on the first cycle.
- No fabric softener; it flattens the pile.

The problem

Once it turns cold, pets move up. Off the floor and onto the sofa, the bed, the armchair — wherever the warmth is. Most owners give in on this, and then spend the winter dealing with the consequences.
