How to use
- Do not start with the brush. For the first few days, let your pet lick pet toothpaste off your finger so the taste becomes the good part.
- Then run a finger along the gum line. No brush yet. Two or three sessions of this buys you real cooperation later.
- Introduce the brush with paste on it and clean four or five teeth. Stop while it is still going well.
- Slide the head over the tooth and use short strokes along the gum line, angled slightly toward the gum. The back molars matter most — that is where tartar starts.
- Rinse and air dry. Replace a brush once the bristles splay outward.

- Use pet toothpaste only. Human toothpaste contains fluoride and often xylitol, both of which are toxic to dogs and cats.
- This removes soft plaque. It does not remove hardened tartar — that requires a veterinary cleaning.
